HLTAID001 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
The program provides participants with the skills and knowledge to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in a range of situations that may include community and workplace settings and in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
Participants will be empowered by this course and be equipped with skills and knowledge to be able to provide CPR in an emergency situation.
As a result of this program, participants will be able to:
• Recognise an emergency situation
• Identify, assess and minimise immediate hazards to health and safety
• Assess the casualty and recognise the need for CPR
• Perform CPR to current ARC guidelines
• Operate an automated external defibrillator (AED)
• Convey details of incident to emergency
