The program is delivered over 16 hours and is comprised of theory and practical sessions. The program culminates with a practical assessment activity and theory assessment.
There are age restrictions set by the Work Health and Safety legislation, all participants must be at least 18 years of age to complete the National High Risk Work Licence Assessment.
This course requires the participant to comprehend and complete MIWT’s learning materials, i.e. MIWT’s Risk Assessment/ Job Safety Analyses. and the oral/written knowledge assessment.
Knowledge Assessment
The candidate will be required to satisfactorily complete the theory assessment comprising Section 1 Knowledge Assessment – 58 short answer & multiple-choice questions and Section 2 Calculations 8 questions. These will be marked on the spot in order to provide the candidate with immediate feedback and to allow them to identify areas for further development.
Performance Assessment
The candidate will be required to demonstrate their practical skills integrated with their knowledge during practical assessment activities. These activities are sourced from varying equipment inspection, pre-operational site checks, and fault finding and reporting. Trainers will regularly challenge test candidates throughout the course on and mark their practical checklist accordingly.
This training program leads to a National High Risk Work Licence Forklift (LF)
The course will be delivered using different modes of delivery involving classroom-based instruction and practical skills development sessions. Training will be coordinated from MIWT’S head office and delivered in a simulated work environment.
Candidates will participate in facilitated learning sessions using PowerPoint presentations, handouts and discussion. During practical sessions, candidates will be asked to work in pairs and facilitated through a range of practical skills using various height safety equipment. Participants will learn skills through practical instruction using demonstrated performance methods such as: Demonstration, explanation.
